Funny Thought

Matthew 24:37-39 states:
“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.  For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

Imagine a young man on the day of his wedding. He and his beautiful wife get married in front of all their family and friends. They hop into a limo and are taken to the reception hall where there is dinner, dancing, and music. Everyone has a wonderful time. Around 10:00 the young couple take the customary early exit. Family and friends shower rice over the couple as they board the limo that will take them to the 5-star luxury hotel they are staying for the night. Before the limo reaches the hotel … Jesus comes and both of them are raptured into Heaven.

If I was this young man, when I saw God I’d probably say, “Dude you couldn’t have given me another hour or two? 30 minutes at least? It wouldn’t have taken that long!”

I can’t be the only person that has ever thought of this.

Thought of the Day

They say that family and friends that have passed on to Heaven before us will greet us as we enter into eternity.

I wonder … do family and friends currently in Heaven bet on whether or not we’ll make it to Heaven when we die?

It’d  be funny if, as I get to Heaven and am greeted by family and friends, I hear someone say to someone else,  “You owe me ten bucks.”

From the Pulpit

I heard a line during a church service I attended this weekend and felt compelled to share it.

“If we knew how much God hates, how much he abhors sin … we wouldn’t do it.”

I think this is only true for the people that actually care about what God thinks. It makes sense that for those that could care less what God thinks, knowing that He hates what you’re doing is not going to change what you do.

Again??

Well I overlooked something again at work Praise God I caught it before the “Can’t Log In To The Network” seal of the Apocalyse was opened. I think that one is the 6th seal. I think the 7th seal is called “Page Cannot Be Found”. God help us when that happens.

His Plan

Yesterday I went running up 2nd street and got to thinking about what God has planned for me and what He wants me to do. How often does the church tell us our “life is not our own” or something like that? To be honest I really don’t know what my purpose is, what God wants me to do, His plan and all that jazz. When I feel God talking to me it’s not audible words, more like something I feel in my spirit, or words that come into my head. So I asked Him as I was walking back home.

“Lord what do you want me to do? What do you want me to be?”

His response.

“What do YOU want to do? What do YOU want to be?”

I didn’t really know what to say.

My Own Worst Enemy

I suppose I should have written this sooner.

All is well in the land of Nod.

My snafu earlier this week was rendered by the end of the day on Monday. The short blog post was just the result of my disappointment and frustration with myself. I was not at any point suicidal as some may have thought … Aaron.

I met with the boss lady on Tuesday, we talked about it, everything is fine. I just imagined the worst and beat myself up the rest of the day on Monday over it. By Tuesday I was fine and probably would have blogged about it on Tues or Wed but just didn’t get around to it.

Sooo yeah apologies for making people unnecessarily concerned. Didn’t mean to. Sorry.  Feel free to kick me in the balls … not  you Aaron.

Stand By Me

Not sure if many of you have seen this video but I thought it was awesome. This remake of “Stand By Me” was done by unknown artists around the world. A base track was recorded in California by a street musician named Roger Ridley. It was then taken to New Orleans where a blind singer named Grandpa Elliott added vocals and harmonica while listening to the base track on headphones. It was then taken to Europe, Africa, and South American where they added music and vocal tracks which were assembled into the final version. According to the website I found it on, it was all done with a laptop and some microphones.

Kinda makes you wonder what kind of music we’ll all make when we all get to Heaven where there will be people from all over the world in once place.
