“Time keeps on ticking ticking ticking … into the future.”
Tuesday afternoon, my watch died on me. It literally cried out in agony, said something about a white tunnel, and breathed its last breath.
The funeral will be this weekend.
That being said I was without a watch for the last couple of days. It sucked. I’m so used to glancing down at my wrist to find what time it is. I’ve had to reach into my pocket and pull out my cell phone to get the time. It became rather annoying pretty quickly.
Now the simplest solution to said problem would be to:
A)Replace the battery to the watch. (I was not sure if the battery could even be replaced)
B)Buy a new watch.
Now this watch was a Casio G-Shock … in my opinion one of the best watches on the market. It’s also about $70 – $80 retail. I didn’t really want to drop another $70 on a G-Shock watch. I priced them for as low as $65 at Wal-Mart but still that’s a good deal of money … for me at least.
So yesterday afternoon I decided to head to Wally-Mart and buy a less expensive watch … even if it was not a G-Shock. (sigh). My criteria were as follows:
Digital time readout with date and seconds
Water resistant
Stopwatch feature (for when I go jogging)
Alarm feature
Backlight feature for night-time viewing. (I know … I’m picky)
The watch I decided on was one of the lower end Timex Ironman watches. The most expensive Ironman was like $160. ($160!!! … for a watch!)
I decided $30 was not too bad so I picked it up and so far I can’t complain. Of course it’s still too early to tell how this will behave in the long run.
I guess only “time” will tell.
Get it? “Time” … “Watch” (cricket cricket)
K it was funny in my head.
